Health Awareness and Handover Program

About This Project

Yang-Ward Foundation collaborated with the students from the Health and Fitness Club of Budhanilkantha School; the National School of Nepal to organize the “Awareness and Handover Program”from 3-4 February 2018 in Uma Kunda VDC, KubuKansthali, Remechhap district of Nepal. This program was focused on the local residents, particularly  women and children, to increase awareness and educate them about various factors that affect their health.

This handover program was a two-day long program. On the first day, students from Budhanilkantha school organized an interaction program at the local school; “Janata MadhyamikBidhyala”. In this interaction program, students from grade 1 to 10 discussed the various factors that contribute to a happy life. Students were encouraged to follow good habits to become healthy. At the end of program, we donated sporting and stationary materials to the school.

On the second day, students gathered women from the village. The  majority of them are members of “AamaSamuha” (Association of Mothers), which works towards the common benefit of women living in the society. They discussed the condition of women in the society and the problems related to the women of the village. Eighteen students and two teachers from Budhanilkantha School went to Ramechhap. These students donated cloth pads to the women and taught them basic ideas on making cloth pads from locally available resources and the ways to use them. Under the presidency of Shiwami KC, the club also donated free medicine to the local health post.

This is the third project of the Yang-Ward Foundation in Ramechhap district. We already have two “Goat Farming” projects running in Ramechhap.
